SESRIC engaged in a productive online coordination meeting with the Ministry of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman, following the bilateral meeting between H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and H.E. Dr. Said ALSAQRI, Minister of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman, during the 39^th Ministerial Session of the COMCEC on 4 December 2023, in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye,.

Representatives of SESRIC provided a comprehensive outline of the Centre's mandates pertaining to socio-economic research, statistics, training, and technical cooperation. They also gave information regarding SESRIC’s joint initiatives with the different national institutions of Oman and their participation in the various activities related to capacity-building programmes organised by SESRIC.

Representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman focused on the significant projects that their Ministry is currently working on, such as the elaboration of the new national development plan and the macroeconomic model. They also stressed that they are also looking for ways and means of developing national development planning.

The discussion concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to deepen collaboration and jointly organise tailored capacity-building programmes. These initiatives will focus on areas of mutual interest, notably in the enhancement of national development planning, governance development index, and macroeconomic modeling.
