Ambassadors of Sudan and Yemen Paid a Courtesy Visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at the SESRIC HQs

H.E. Ambassador Nadir Yousif ELTAYEB of Sudan and H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Saleh Ahmed TURIQ of Yemen paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at the SESRIC HQs in Ankara.

SESRIC, as a prominent subsidiary organ within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), places great emphasis on research and data-driven analysis, generating insights to inform policymaking across OIC countries. Both Sudan and Yemen, being OIC member countries, are integral to SESRIC's technical reports and capacity-building acitivities on social and economic matters.

SESRIC's collaborative efforts with Sudan include 131 capacity-building activities benefiting 837 experts, involvement in the Reverse Linkage Project with Türkiye, and joint projects addressing health emergencies. Meanwhile, SESRIC has organized 77 activities benefitting 157 participants from Yemen in various capacity-building programs.

H.E. ELTAYEB thanked SESRIC for its efforts that mainly encourage collaboration with Sudanese institutions, especially the Central Bureau of Statistics, emphasizing SESRIC's continued knowledge exchange , supporting regional events, and exploring Sudan’s expertise in various fields. In the mean time, H.E. TURIQ underscored that SESRIC’s collaboration with Yemen’s Central Statistical Organisation is productive and added that SESRIC encourages Yemeni institutions’ participation in OIC-StatCom sessions, inviting them to actively contribute to the SESRIC activities and to facilitate knowledge.

Both Ambassadors appreciated the warm welcome of SESRIC and reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen ties between their respective countries and SESRIC, fostering knowledge exchange, capacity building, and joint initiatives for the socio-economic development of OIC countries.
