Following the virtual meeting between SESRIC and the Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) on 14 December 2023, a consensus was reached to organise a Workshop on “Halal Industry Development in OIC Member Countries”, SESRIC subsequently shared the draft concept note with BAPPENAS. The workshop is scheduled to take place on 24-25 April 2024. In order to refine the specifics of the workshop, a virtual coordination meeting was held on 27 March 2024. The meeting was primarily devoted to deliberations on the logistical framework of the workshop and the identification of prospective speakers for this collaborative undertaking.

BAPPENAS expressed readiness to progress together and commitment to supporting each other in facilitating knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices in Halal industry development among OIC countries.
