Date: 22 March 2024
Venue: Virtual, New York – USA -

SESRIC participated in the Special Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA) Meeting on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) monitoring on 22 March 2024, virtually hosted by the United Nations Statistical Division (UNSD) in New York.

The meeting brought together custodian agencies of the SDGs and the international organizations to discuss the progress that has been made in improving data for SDG monitoring and as there are still gaps in data coverage, particularly for some of the Goals.

The Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA) promotes interagency coordination and cooperation on statistical programmes and consistency in statistical practices and development. The members of the CCSA comprise international and supranational organizations, whose mandate and activities include the provision of international official statistics in the context of the Principles Governing International Statistical Activities, and which have a permanent embedded statistical service in their organization and regular contacts with countries. Including SESRIC among its members signifies the CCSA's broad engagement across different regions and domains, enhancing its global statistical initiatives.
