H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a productive bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Fahad ALDOSSARI, President of the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the side-lines of the Saudi Statistics Forum on 28 April 2025.

The discussion focused on leveraging the existing collaboration in the field of various statistical activities within the framework of SESRIC's StatCaB Programme and the OIC Statistical Commission.

The meeting also provided a room to discuss the preparations for the upcoming Sixth UN World Data Forum 2026 to be held in Riyadh, planned to take place between 9 and 12 November 2026, and the possible contributions of SESRIC in the Forum leveraging the existing collaboration with GASTAT in the field of various statistical domains within the framework of SESRIC's StatCaB Programme and the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom).

H.E. SELÇUK reiterated the readiness of SESRIC to support the UN World Data Forum 2026 through proposing various themes and activities to be possibly included in the upcoming Forum and expressed her appreciation for the invitation to contribute as one of the speakers in the Saudi Statistics Forum held on 27-28 April 2025.

To date, Saudi Arabia has actively participated in more than 110 statistical activities of SESRIC, and GASTAT hosted the 12^th Session of the OIC-StatCom in Jeddah on 3-4 October 2023, organised by SESRIC and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
