SESRIC Participated in the 3rd International and 16th National Congress on Agricultural Structures and Irrigation

SESRIC participated in the 3rd International and 16th National Congress on Agricultural Structures and Irrigation (ICASI-2025), held from 24 to 27 June 2025 in Ankara, Türkiye. The congress was hosted by Ankara University, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM), Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye.

The congress aimed to discuss and debate the pressing challenges in agricultural water management, irrigation, and agricultural structures, particularly in the context of declining water resources, climate change, and global warming. It brought together academicians and experts from universities, research institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and foster collaboration.

Representing SESRIC, Dr. Moynul Ahsan delivered a presentation titled “Water Scarcity and Irrigation Water Management in OIC Countries.” His presentation provided an overview of the current state of water resources across OIC countries, highlighted the key water security challenges faced by the OIC group, and shared insights on irrigation water management and practices in OIC countries.

The congress serves as a platform to foster dialogue, share experiences, and promote innovation in the water, irrigation, and agriculture sector, all of which align with SESRIC’s ongoing efforts in statistics, research, and capacity building for OIC countries.
