SESRIC and INCEIF Explore Avenues for Enhanced Cooperation in Islamic Finance and Halal Economy

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK engaged in an insightful meeting with H.E. Dato' Dr. Mohd Azmi OMAR, President and CEO of INCEIF, on advancing cooperation in Islamic finance and the halal economy across the OIC region.

Discussions centred on potential joint initiatives between SESRIC and INCEIF, including various topics related to Islamic finance and risk management, developing statistical capacity, and fostering regulatory convergence across OIC countries. H.E. SELÇUK shared insights on the Centre’s relevant activities, particularly capacity-building programmes under SESRIC’s Central Banks Capacity Building Programme (CB-CaB), Halal Capacity Building Programme (Halal-CaB), and OIC-TVET Programme, highlighting SESRIC’s efforts in advancing the Islamic Finance sector. The meeting further explored potential collaborations on students’ exchange under the SESRIC Emerging Talents Capacity Building Programme (SET-CAB) and examined the prospective of conducting joint research studies.

In his turn, H.E. Omar appreciated joint implemented projects and indicated the University’s readiness to share technical know-how with counterparts from OIC countries in future initiatives, praising the crucial role SESRIC plays in raising awareness on topics related to halal economy.

The International Centre for Education for Islamic Finance (INCEIF), was established by Bank Negara Malaysia in 2005, as a global university of Islamic finance. It aims to graduate experts and knowledge in the Islamic financial services industry through its postgraduate programmes and research.
