SESRIC participated in the UN World Data Forum (UNWDF) Webinar on “Commit to Data” on 20 January 2026, co-organised by GASTAT, PARIS21, and Open Data Watch.

During the webinar, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK presented SESRIC’s proposed commitment. Building on the OIC-StatCom Programme of Action 2026–2030 under the Strategic Vision for 2030, SESRIC committed to advancing “Open Data and Statistical Governance Modernisation in OIC Member Countries”.

This commitment is based on measurable milestones, including capacity-building activities, peer learning, and knowledge exchange through the OIC-StatCom framework, aiming to strengthen statistical governance, promote open data practices in official statistics, and support SDG monitoring.

This event brought together representatives from PARIS21, GASTAT, the UNSD, Open Data Watch, the African Centre for Statistics of UNECA, the Ghana Statistical Service, and International Women’s Development Agency.
