Date: 21 January 2026
Venue: Hybrid, Cairo - Egypt

SESRIC participated in the High-level event “Knowledge for Enhanced Efforts: Introducing the WDO Cross-Regional Think Tank”, organised by the Women Development Organisation (WDO), serving as the soft-launch of the Digital Legal Library, in a hybrid format in Cairo, Egypt, on 21 January 2026. SESRIC delivered a presentation titled “Advancing Women’s Rights through Data and Collaboration” during the session “High-Level Strategic Dialogue: Partnerships for Impact.”

The presentation highlighted current demographic trends, socioeconomic challenges, and the strategic importance of data in advancing women’s rights across OIC countries. SESRIC emphasised its continued support to achieve these goals through the collation of socioeconomic statistics on women and girls, the generation of relevant evidence-based policy recommendations, and the implementation of social, economic and statistical capacity-building programmes, aiming to address critical gaps in data quality, comparability and disaggregated data.

The session served as a platform for discussion on providing essential and comprehensive data on all national laws and legal frameworks related to the status of women and children. The event explored the specific role that think tanks play in supporting legislative reform and promoting legal awareness across the OIC countries. It convened a diverse panel of international experts, policymakers, and academic leaders.
