The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development of Nigeria visited SESRIC

H.E. Hajiya Imaan SULAIMAN-IBRAHIM, Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, paid an official visit to SESRIC.

During the visit, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK warmly welcomed the Nigerian Minister and highlighted SESRIC’s mandate as a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its long-standing commitment to supporting member countries through evidence-based research, technical cooperation, and targeted capacity-building programmes.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on strengthening cooperation through capacity-building programmes and joint initiatives. Discussions focused on sustainable policies aimed at improving the welfare of families, women, and children, both in Nigeria and across OIC countries. In this context, emphasis was placed on knowledge sharing, institutional capacity development, and evidence-based policymaking to address shared social challenges.

H.E. SULAIMAN-IBRAHIM expressed appreciation for SESRIC’s work and reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with OIC institutions. She underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in promoting social protection, women’s empowerment, and child welfare as key pillars of sustainable development.

The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of SESRIC and Nigeria to deepening cooperation in the field of social development and to advancing common objectives in line with the priorities of OIC countries.
