Within the framework of the Diplomacy Capacity Building Programme (Diplomacy-CaB), SESRIC hosted a delegation of diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, accompanied by a representative from the Diplomacy Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, at its headquarters in Ankara on 4 February 2026.

SESRIC welcomed the delegation at the beginning of their visit. Following an introductory round, a presentation was given on the history, organisational structure, and mission of the OIC. This presentation provided an overview of the OIC system and its role in promoting collaboration among member countries. The delegation also received detailed information about SESRIC’s core activities, which support the development of OIC countries in three main areas: statistics, research, and training and technical cooperation. Additionally, they were informed about various SESRIC initiatives that contribute to development across OIC countries in different socio-economic sectors.

The visit took place alongside a professional training programme organised by the Diplomacy Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, intended for Iranian diplomats. The occasion facilitated the exchange of ideas and underscored the importance of strengthening relations with Iranian national institutions. SESRIC continues its cooperation with the Diplomacy Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye to enhance the capacity of young diplomats in OIC countries and raise awareness about OIC.
