SESRIC Participates in the 2nd OIC Conference of Transport Ministers

Date: 11-12 February 2026
Venue: Istanbul - Türkiye

A delegation headed by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK participated the 2nd OIC Conference of Transport Ministers, held on 11-12 February 2026 in İstanbul.

H.E. SELÇUK presented  the technical report of SESRIC titled “Transportation for Development in OIC Member Countries 2026,” which examines the current state of transport infrastructure and logistics, identifies major challenges, and outlines policy considerations for improving connectivity.

She emphasized that transport connectivity remains a strategic enabler of economic integration, trade expansion, and sustainable development across OIC countries. While progress has been made, persistent infrastructure and connectivity gaps continue to constrain this potential, requiring sustained investment, stronger logistics systems, and enhanced regional cooperation. With coordinated efforts, transport can serve as a powerful driver of competitiveness, resilience, and shared prosperity across the OIC region.
