SESRIC Received a Delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye

SESRIC received a courtesy visit from H.E. Ahmet Rıza DEMIRER, Director General for Bilateral Political Affairs (OAGM), and H.E. Özgür ARSLAN, Deputy Director General for the OIC, ECO and D-8, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, at its Headquarters in Ankara on 25 February 2026.

During the meeting, the parties held fruitful discussions on advancing cooperation within the framework of the OIC and strengthening coordination on multilateral and bilateral matters of mutual interest. They underlined the importance of enhancing collaboration and ensuring effective coordination among relevant institutions to support the collective development efforts of OIC countries.

H.E. SELÇUK provided an overview of SESRIC’s ongoing activities and strategic priorities, highlighting the Organisation’s work in the areas of research, statistics, and training and technical cooperation. She emphasised SESRIC’s continued commitment to supporting evidence-based policymaking, capacity building, and knowledge-sharing initiatives aimed at addressing key socio-economic challenges across the OIC region.

The discussions also explored new avenues to further deepen cooperation and expand joint initiatives that would contribute to sustainable development in OIC countries. Both sides expressed their readiness to strengthen institutional partnerships and promote closer collaboration in line with the mandate and objectives of SESRIC and the broader OIC framework.

The meeting concluded with a mutual reaffirmation of commitment to enhancing cooperation and coordination in support of shared priorities and common development goals.
