SESRIC Participated in the OECD Skills Summit 2026

Date: 27 April 2026
Venue: Istanbul - Türkiye

SESRIC delegation headed by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK participated in the OECD Skills Summit 2026, co-hosted with the Republic of Türkiye, on 27–28 April 2026 in Istanbul under the theme “Unlocking Talent Across Generations”.

During her intervention, she noted that OIC countries, with over 2 billion people and 33% of the population below 15, account for an increasing share of the global labour force (from 20% in 2015 to 22% in 2025).

She highlighted three key OIC policy priorities: integrated skills governance across sectors, scaling up lifelong learning and flexible upskilling pathways, and strengthening regional and international cooperation on skills' recognition.

She underscored that advancing lifelong learning and skills development requires a coherent and coordinated agenda across education, labour, industry, and technology, grounded in reliable and robust statistical systems.
