SESRIC participated in the High-Level Roundtable on Women in the Labour Market within OIC Countries, organised by the Women Development Organisation (WDO) on the margins of the 17th UN-OIC General Meeting on Cooperation in Geneva.

The event brought together representatives from various OIC Institutions, UN Agencies, as well as diplomatic missions in Geneva.

Mrs. Semiha ABDULLAH İNAN, Coordinator of the Partnerships and Technical Cooperation Division, delivered a scene-setting presentation titled "Overview of Key Labour Market Trends, Gaps, and Challenges Affecting Women in OIC Countries."

The presentation highlighted key labour market trends, persistent gaps, and emerging issues affecting women across OIC countries, while offering strategic policy recommendations to advance women's economic empowerment and expand opportunities for inclusive and sustainable development.

The presentation consisted of data on labour force participation, employment-to-population ratio, and employment by status. In addition, it reflected the current situation in informal employment and unpaid work as key issues affecting women development and their active participation in labour market. The presentation also highlighted some policy recommendations towards improving the status of women across the OIC countries.
