H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK addressed the 8th Meeting of the OIC-COMCEC Central Banks Forum, hosted by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye on 13-14 September 2026. She highlighted the importance of preserving economic stability to protect living standards and sustain development amid geopolitical uncertainty.
OIC countries grew by 4.1% in 2025, above the world average of 3.5%. Yet differing exposure to trade disruptions, inflation and financing pressures underscores the importance of responses suited to national circumstances.
She emphasised credible institutions, preparedness for changing risks, stronger economic foundations and closer intra-OIC cooperation as priorities for lasting prosperity.
H.E. SELÇUK reaffirmed SESRIC's commitment to supporting these efforts through its areas of work in statistics, research and training. Under its Central Banks Capacity Building Programme (CB-CaB), SESRIC has facilitated the exchange of expertise across our member countries.
