SESRIC and SPF of Oman Discuss Enhanced Cooperation on Social Protection

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Faisal AL FARSI, Chief Executive Officer of the Social Protection Fund (SPF) of the Sultanate of Oman, on 16 September 2026 in Muscat, to exchange views on opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the field of social protection.

During the meeting, both sides underscored the significance of the OIC Social Security Institutions Network (OIC-SSI-Net) as a platform for fostering solidarity, institutional cooperation, and the exchange of knowledge, expertise and best practices among institutions responsible for social protection systems across OIC Member Countries. In this context, they discussed avenues for enhancing the SPF’s engagement and potential cooperation within the framework of the Network.

The two sides also exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation between SESRIC and the SPF in areas pertaining to the protection and empowerment of children, youth and persons with disabilities. They emphasised the importance of enhanced institutional collaboration in these areas in promoting economic security, advancing public health and supporting efforts to reduce poverty across OIC Member Countries.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared interest of SESRIC and the SPF in identifying concrete avenues for future cooperation and further strengthening institutional collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
