H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Prof. Hani SEWILAM, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of Egypt, to discuss opportunities for further strengthening cooperation between SESRIC and the Ministry.

The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration under SESRIC’s Water Resources Management Capacity Building Programme (Water-CaB), including the Ministry’s potential role as a technical partner and provider of expertise for future activities, as well as the organisation of technical visits, expert meetings, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The two sides also explored opportunities to share Egypt’s experiences and good practices through the OIC Water Portal and to strengthen cooperation in the context of the upcoming 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, scheduled to take place in Antalya, Türkiye.

Furthermore, H.E. SELÇUK informed H.E. SEWILAM about SESRIC’s participation in the upcoming Cairo Water Week 2026, during which the Centre will host an exhibition booth to showcase its activities and initiatives in relevant areas.
