H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Orbis Helaf ORBIS, Minister of Trade and Tourism of Djibouti, on the margins of the 42nd Ministerial Session of COMCEC in Istanbul, Türkiye.
During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK provided an overview of SESRIC’s mandates, activities and institutional priorities, with particular reference to the OIC Statistics Database (OICStat). She expressed her appreciation for Djibouti’s active participation in SESRIC’s meetings and activities and highlighted the Centre’s interest in further enhancing cooperation with Djibouti, including through the hosting and organisation of SESRIC events in the country.
In response, H.E. ORBIS reaffirmed Djibouti’s commitment to maintaining its support to SESRIC. He also indicated that an invitation would be extended to the Director General to visit Djibouti in connection with a forthcoming event.
Furthermore, H.E. SELÇUK briefed the Minister on the OIC Emerging Talents Programme, highlighting its role in supporting students in developing their skills and competencies. She also expressed SESRIC’s openness to facilitating secondment opportunities as a means of further strengthening institutional cooperation and human resource development.
