Training Course on 'Census Survey Design and Sampling Techniques' in Yemen

The Centre organised a training course on 'Census Survey Design and Sampling Techniques' at the Central Statistical Organization in Sana'a, Yemen on 4-6 September 2013. The course was provided by Mr. Arif Cheema, an expert from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The training course on 'Census and Survey Designs and Sampling Techniques' covered the following topics:

Day 1

  • Sampling theory and its application
  • Sampling frames and their application

Day 2

  • Social surveys: Household surveys, Designs and estimation procedures

  • Agricultural censuses and surveys, Designs and estimation procedures
    • Crop surveys, Acreage and objective surveys
    • Livestock surveys, Number and by-product surveys

    • Manufacturing establishment surveys
      • Large scale manufacturing establishments
      • Small and household manufacturing establishments
