A Socio-Economic Survey on the Syria Palestinian Refugees in the Republic of Turkey
Date: 25 July 2019

The 13th Islamic Summit Conference (Unity and Solidarity for Justice and Peace) held in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey in April 2016 called for support and scaling up the program of economic empowerment for the Palestinian people and called upon governments, private sectors, organisations and individuals to contribute to its resources. As a response to this call, the partnership titled “Syria-Palestinian Employment and Entrepreneurship Development (SPEED)”, was launched by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group. A socio-economic survey covering Syria Palestinian refugees in Turkey was conducted under the SPEED Project in the second half of 2018. For the survey, SESRIC and Turkish Red Crescent designed a questionnaire with active support from all partners of the SPEED Project. Based on the inputs collected, SESRIC prepared the current analytical report which aims at reflecting the Syria Palestinian refugees’ experiences and challenges in Turkey and suggesting actionable recommendations to improve their economic and social well-being.
