SESRIC Participated in the 36th Session of the Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA)

SESRIC participated in the 36th Session of the Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA) held virtually on 10-11 September 2020. Dr. Atilla Karaman, Director of Statistics and Information of SESRIC, and Ms. Nenden Octavarulia Shanty, Researcher, represented SESRIC in the session.

On the first day of the session, Volume II of CCSA publication entitled “How COVID-19 is Changing the World: a Statistical Perspective” and results of the second round of the Global COVID-19 Survey of NSOs were covered. Following the agenda, issues concerning the 2030 agenda and population data in the global monitoring of the SDGs were discussed among the participants.

Discussions related to the 2030 Agenda specifically on the coordination of statistical capacity building and SDGs progress methodologies continued in the second day of the session. Additionally, the participants also shared their views on how CCSA members could contribute to the upcoming World Development Report 2021. The issues related to geospatial information for statistics, open data and revision of the Clasification of Statistical Activities were also covered during the session.
