Online Training Course on ‘Statistical Data Analysis’ for the Benefit of ICESCO Regional Educational Centre in Chad

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Training Course on ‘Statistical Data Analysis’ with the participation of 44 attendees from the Regional Educational Centre of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Chad and National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 5 OIC countries on 17-19 February 2021.

The training course commenced with the addresses of H.E Mr. Nebil Dabur, Director General of SESRIC; Mr. Adel BOURAOUI, Advisor to the Director General, ICESCO Centers of Arabic Teaching; and H.E Dr. Ali Mahamat Ali GAMAR, Director of the ICESCO Regional Educational Centre in Chad. H.E Mr. Nebil Dabur, Director General of SESRIC, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to H.E Dr. Ola AWAD, President of PCBS, for accepting the invitation to technically contribute to this important training course through nominating Ms. Waad BANI ODEH, Project Manager of Balance of Payments Statistics at the PCBS. He also thanked ICESCO for coordinating the participation of the mentors and Arab school principals in Chad in this training course in his address.

Following-up the welcoming remarks and opening addresses, the training started in which Ms. Waad Bani ODEH, Project Manager of Balance of Payments Statistics at the PCBS, covered the following topics:

  • Introduction to Statistical Analysis
  • Statistical Analysis in Microsoft Excel
  • Inferential Statistics

The course was conducted through a video conferencing platform by following synchronous learning and instruction approaches designed in line with the virtual training solutions undertaken by SESRIC in order to better serve the Centre’s training activities and keep participants motivated and engaged during this time of global crisis due to COVID-19.
