H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Metin YENER, the President of the Turkish Court of Accounts, on 18 July 2023. During the visit, H.E. SELÇUK emphasized the importance of the occasion in fostering stronger ties and finding ways and means of bilateral activities for the benefit of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

She acknowledged the significant role of SESRIC as one of the subsidiary organs of the OIC and highlighted its commitment to fostering the socio-economic development of OIC countries through the promotion of intra-OIC cooperation.

The Turkish Court of Accounts was commended for its longstanding reputation as a pillar of accountability, transparency, and efficient financial management. H.E. SELÇUK recognized its dedication to upholding the principles of good governance and ensuring the proper use of public resources.

SESRIC and the Turkish Court of Accounts actively engage in research initiatives, generate and disseminate knowledge, provide guidance for policy-making, and support the development of strategic programs and frameworks. They encourage cooperation among OIC countries by identifying and sharing best practices, while monitoring and evaluating socio-economic performance and the implementation status of regional programs and policy frameworks.

Work between SESRIC and the Turkish Court of Accounts was highlighted, with a focus on enhancing the technical capacities of human resources in member countries. Notably, the two institutions have already successfully organised Training Courses on "Financial Audit" and "Quality Management in Public Audit", which both received significant attention from member countries.

The visit concluded with H.E. SELÇUK’s gratitude for the warm reception extended by President YENER and an eagerness to explore further avenues of work, strengthening the bonds between SESRIC and the esteemed Turkish Court of Accounts.
