H.E. Mohammad Shafiee bin Haji KASSIM, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Türkiye, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK on 26 July 2023. The Ambassador conveyed his heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome extended to him, while expressing the intention to explore further opportunities for collaboration between national institutions of Brunei and SESRIC, focusing on common objectives and mutual areas of interest.

In the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK provided a comprehensive briefing on the existing collaborative endeavours between SESRIC and Brunei's national institutions, along with highlighting the potential opportunities for further expansion of this cooperation. H.E. KASSIM conveyed sincere appreciation for the significant contributions of SESRIC in encouraging human and institutional capacities within Brunei. He also emphasized the pivotal role played by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in this context.

Both parties reached consent on various actions to strengthen their partnerships. These actions included the identification of particular domains for the facilitation of active engagement of national institutions of Brunei in SESRIC's activities.

The meeting concluded on a positive note with both parties dedicated to working together to address key challenges and contribute to socio-economic development in Brunei Darussalam and the wider OIC community.
