H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK visited H.E. Dr. Yousaf JUNAID, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Türkiye. The meeting was a good opportunity to raise various issues pertinent to the work of SESRIC and its efforts in addressing the common challenges and leveraging the current strengths in the OIC region, including Pakistan.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK provided a comprehensive briefing on the existing collaborative endeavours between SESRIC and Pakistan's national institutions, along with highlighting the potential opportunities for further expansion of this cooperation. She commended the performance of Pakistan at the level of several social and economic indicators, as stated in different reports and studies prepared by SESRIC. On the other hand, H.E. JUNAID conveyed sincere appreciation for the significant contributions of SESRIC in encouraging human and institutional capacities within Pakistan. He also emphasized the pivotal role played by the OIC in this context.

SESRIC has organised an impressive array of 130 capacity-building activities, aimed at empowering the public institutions of Pakistan. Reciprocally, Pakistani public institutions have been pivotal in bolstering SESRIC's efforts by providing experts for a diverse range of capacity-building activities, spanning from competition sectors to statistics, TVET education to cotton productivity enhancement, and beyond. Additionally, SESRIC has conducted 16 impactful activities, leveraging the technical expertise and support of Pakistan's national authorities, covering a wide spectrum of socio-economic subjects.

The visit concluded with both parties readiness to enhance their joint efforts towards more tangible results, with the ultimate objective of improving the prosperity and the well-being of people in Pakistan, in particular, and the OIC region in general.
