SESRIC held its eighth Technical Review Meeting, a continuation of the ongoing initiative launched in April 2023 at its headquarters in Ankara. The meeting was dedicated to sharing and discussing the draft contents and preliminary findings of SESRIC’s forthcoming 2023 edition of the ‘OIC Health Report’, which has been prepared biennially since 2011 as the main technical background document for the Islamic Conference of Health Ministers (ICHM).

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Fadi Abdullah FARASIN, Assistant Director General of SESRIC, and attended by the directors and experts from Research, Statistics, Training, and Publication departments of the Centre. Dr. Esat BAKIMLI, Senior Researcher from the Economic and Social Research Department, made a detailed presentation on the contents of the report and shared the initial findings with the participants.

In an interactive environment, the participants intervened during the meeting to provide their comments and feedback. The contents of the report will be modified and further enriched in accordance with the feedback received during the meeting. The report will be submitted to and presented at the 8th Session of the ICHM once it is convened.

The Technical Review Meetings, initiated by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, aim to foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing at the Centre by bringing together senior staff to discuss and evaluate the quality and relevance of the Centre’s research work. These meetings also offer SESRIC staff an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the methodology, structure, scope, and outcomes of the Centre’s research reports while promoting open dialogue for feedback and comments.
