H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and H.E. Khalifa Al Qubaisi of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) held a bilateral meeting on 18 October 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Upon welcoming the SESRIC delegation, H.E. Khalifa Al Qubaisi expressed his gratitude for the visit and provided an informative overview of the ADFD’s efforts towards promoting sustainable socio-economic growth through various means, such as providing concessionary loans, coordinating national government grants and equities.

H.E. SELÇUK, in turn, provided a brief overview of SESRIC’s work and initiatives on statistics, research, training, and technical cooperation. She gave details on the various capacity-building programs aimed at deevloping capacities of national institutions in OIC countries, as well as data and research outputs of the Centre and other relevant initiatives.

The meeting further covered potential areas of collaboration, particularly possible joint activities on sustainable development and capacity-building, between the two institutions.

The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), established on July 15, 1971, is an autonomous entity affiliated with the Abu Dhabi government. Its mission is to foster sustainable socio-economic growth in developing countries through financial assistance such as concessionary loans, managing government grants, and equities. Additionally, ADFD invests in these countries to stimulate their private sectors, thereby accelerating economic development and simultaneously strengthening and diversifying its own future resources.
