SESRIC held a productive bilateral meeting with Indonesia on the sidelines of the International Conference on Women in Islam held in Jeddah on 7 November 2023.

During the bilateral meeting, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Retno MARSUDI, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, and provided information about the various activities undertaken by SESRIC in the domains of statistics, research, and training. H.E. SELÇUK highlighted the crucial role that Indonesia has played as an important partner in terms of providing countries for SESRIC’s capacity building programmes.

H.E. SELÇUK emphasized that Indonesia has not only been a valuable provider but has also benefited from multiple capacity building programs offered by SESRIC. These programs have covered a wide range of sectors, including statistics, agriculture, finance, and many more. She further expressed SESRIC’s keen interest in exploring additional avenues for collaboration with Indonesia’s national institutions. By forging stronger ties and building upon the existing cooperation, SESRIC aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and best practices, ultimately contributing to the mutual development and advancement of both parties. The meeting marked a significant step towards realizing the shared vision of achieving sustainable development, prosperity, and empowerment within OIC countries.
