SESRIC and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) conducted a virtual coordination meeting on 21 December 2023 to discuss a broad spectrum of mutual interests, particularly by focusing on the co-organization of initiatives aimed at enhancing women and youth entrepreneurship, promoting social inclusion in the labor market, and fostering economic empowerment in the OIC region.

The main focus of this meeting was the detailed planning of the forthcoming training course titled “Setting Up a Supportive Policy Framework to Promote Youth and Women Entrepreneurship”, scheduled for 9-10 January 2024. This course is set to be implemented within the framework of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET), in alignment with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025.

Both SESRIC and IsDB reaffirmed their strong commitment to this collaborative endeavor, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in advancing the developmental goals of the OIC member countries. A key highlight of the upcoming training includes the sharing of valuable insights and expertise from the OIC countries as well as the relevant international and OIC institutions, particularly in establishing effective policy frameworks that support the advancement of women and youth entrepreneurship.

The training course is tailored for participants from the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Authorities and relevant national institutions of OIC Member Countries. For more details about the OIC-VET and its comprehensive activities, please visit: OIC-VET website.
