SESRIC and IRENA held a Virtual Coordination Meeting to discuss the forthcoming Webinar on ‘Renewable Energy Statistics’

SESRIC and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) held a virtual coordination meeting on 21 March 2024 as a preparatory stage of the Webinar on “Renewable Energy Statistics” which will be organized by SESRIC in collaboration with the IRENA on 28 March 2024.

The coordination meeting played a significant role in the outcomes pertinent to finalizing the organizational aspects of the forthcoming webinar.

During the meeting, there was a concerted effort to refine the concept note and program through a collaborative exchange of viewpoints. Subsequently, a collective evaluation was undertaken to determine the selection of speakers for the impending webinar. The meeting concluded with a succinct assessment of the institutions and organizations that have been invited to participate in the webinar, as well as those that are potential invitees.

The webinar on “Renewable Energy Statistics” targets official statisticians, practitioners from OIC countries, and international experts engaged in or interested in the field of renewable energy statistics. Its primary objective is to underscore the significance of renewable energy statistics, explore methodologies, and establish standards for their production and dissemination.

Through interactive discussions, the webinar intends to address current practices, challenges, and the varied perspectives of stakeholders, thereby enhancing the capability of the National Statistical Systems (NSSs) of the OIC countries to accurately reflect the renewable energy landscape.
