The municipality of Esenler in Istanbul will host The International City and Civil Society Organization Summit 2017 on 20-22 October 2017. The summit will be held at Yıldız Technical University 2010 European Capital of Culture Congress and Culture Center.

The aim of the Summit is to encourage NGOs working on local, national, and international projects focused on urban life to establish relations and partnerships with other civil society organizations operating in similar fields, and engaged in urban studies. At the same time, the aim is to provide an international platform that will allow the mutual transfer of knowledge and experience, support the development of business associations and joint projects and encourage associated fundraising efforts, and enable the sharing of best practices.

More than 200 Academics, experts, city administrators and Civil Society Organizations’ representatives from over 40 countries will come together and present their research. Their papers and resolutions will be shared with the public through various media platforms.

The President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Edoğan and The Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım are expected to give a speech at the opening ceremony.
