International Forum on Al-Quds Waqfs

The International Forum on al-Quds Waqf organizes the International Forum on the Role of Waqfs in Economic Development of the Holy City of Al-Quds and its Surrounding, under the auspices of His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Republic of Turkey.

During the Islamic Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul in 2016, the Turkish President His Excellency Honorable Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called on OIC member states for the support and enlargement of the strengthening of economic programs for the Palestinian people in the Palestinian territories and Al-Quds territories.

The International Forum on Al-Quds Waqfs aims to bring together Waqfs working on Jerusalem all over the world, in particular by establishing links between Waqfs, and to explore opportunities for cooperation between each other, and provide a roadmap for improving the economic conditions of Al-Quds and its environment. The Forum also aims to unite the subject Waqfs under common platform, exchange information on the existing and future planned activities for recovering Al- Quds Waqfs and supporting the Palestinian people.

This two-day Forum consists of eight sessions on the relevance of Waqf, namely, “The Development of Endowment Products in Al-Quds”, “Historical Perspective of Al-Quds Waqfs”, “The Role of Palestine and Jordan in Supporting Al-Quds and its Surroundings”, “Experiences of Al-Quds Waqfs in the World”, “Al-Quds Experiences of NGOs in Turkey”, “Building and Strengthening the Civil Society”, and “Supporting Al-Quds through Economic Empowerment”.

His Excellency President will launch the Exhibition that will take place on 8 May. The gathering will close with a Roundtable Workshop about the “Future of Developing Al-Quds Waqf around the world Through Successful Initiatives and Projects”.
