SESRIC in collaboration with the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Central Bank of Malaysia, will organize a Training Workshop on “Conversion Process Towards Becoming an Islamic Financial Institution” within the framework of the Capacity Building Programme for Central Banks (CB-CaB) on 18–20 September 2017, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The target groups of this training workshop will be officials from central banks, regulatory agencies or government ministries involved in the development of Islamic finance industry and regulatory framework for Islamic banks.

The following topics will be the main focus of the training programme:

• Shariah standards, parameters and guidance on conversion.
• Nature and scale of conversion.
• Management of post conversion issues.
• Critical success and failure factors of conversion.
• Duty of oversight and compliance.
