The International Autumn School and Workshop on “Applied Industrial Policy: Theory, Empirics and Instruments for Effective Policy Design” will be organised in collaboration with OSTIM Technical University, SESRIC, the Centre for Industrial Policy and Development of Istanbul Commerce University, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Columbia University, Central Bank of Turkey and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) on 15-17 October 2019 in Ankara, Republic of Turkey.

The workshop targets researchers from universities and research centres and civil servants interested in structural transformation and industrial policy.

The objectives of the autumn school and the workshop are to provide an overview of the process of structural transformation and its linkages with development, and to equip participants with knowledge of the key policy instruments that could accelerate the gradual transformation of the economic structure.

During the workshop, participants will take part in lectures given in the data lab of OSTIMTECH to strengthen quantitative research skills for conducting high-quality analysis of applied labour economics.
