IPHRC delegation paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK

Dr. Saqlain JAVED, Deputy Executive Director of IPHRC and Mr. Hacı Ali AÇIKGÜL, Vice Chairman of IPHRC, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC. The meeting aimed to strengthen the existing partnership between SESRIC and IPHRC in areas of mutual interest.

H.E. SELÇUK thanked the IPHRC delegation for their courtesy visit and underlined SESRIC’s willingness to collaborate on joint activities and initiatives between the two OIC institutions, with a special focus on human rights and sustainable development. She also added that SESRIC, working with esteemed international partners, has conducted extensive research studies and organized several events alongside major international conferences on humanitarian crises.

In turn, the IPHRC delegation thanked H.E. SELÇUK for her warm welcome and commended SESRIC's pivotal role in providing research and data-driven analysis, which generates pertinent insights that can help inform policymaking and facilitate evidence-based decision-making across OIC countries. They added that mutual areas of cooperation between SESRIC and IPHRC provide many opportunities for further collaboration.

The meeting ended with both parties affirming their readiness to work closely together to promote and strengthen human rights in OIC countries through technical cooperation, assistance, and awareness-raising initiatives in the field of human rights.

The Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC), established by the OIC in 2011, serves as an expert body with advisory capacity and is one of the principal organs of the OIC working independently in the area of human rights.
