Training Course on ‘Fundamentals of Integrated Management on Health Emergencies and Crises’

Within the framework of the SESRIC IbnSina Health Capacity Building Programme (IbnSina-CaB), and in line with the relevant resolutions of the 7th Session of the Islamic Conference of Health Ministers (ICHM), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population of the Arab Republic of Egypt, organised a Training Course on “Fundamentals of Integrated Management on Health Emergencies and Crises” on 23-25 May 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

The training course was provided by competent experts from the Ministry of Health and Population of the Arab Republic of Egypt for the benefit of 166 experts and executives from the Ministries of Health and relevant national institutions in 25 OIC Member Countries.

The training course provided insights into the vital role of effective human resources management during health emergencies and crises, as well as the significance of efficient coordination and cooperation mechanisms among the relevant entities in the face of emergencies and crises. Additionally, the activity highlighted good practices in managing health emergencies and crises to assist OIC Member Countries in addressing challenges in this crucial domain within the framework of the Thematic Area 5 of the OIC-Strategic Health Programme of Action (OIC-SHPA) 2014-2023.

  • Information Management & Effective Risk Communication
  • Update in Emergency and Catastrophic Management

The IbnSina Health Capacity Building Programme (IbnSina-CaB) was developed and initiated by SESRIC in 2010. The Programme aims at supporting and contributing to the efforts of the OIC Member Countries towards strengthening their institutional and human resources capacities by sharing knowledge, experiences and best practices among the Ministries of Health and relevant National Institutions. Within the framework of this Programme, the Centre organises capacity-building activities by following various modalities such as training courses, training workshops, training webinars and study visits.
