Within the framework of SESRIC’s Emerging Talents Capacity Building Programme (SET-CAB), SESRIC initiated a month-long training on 17 July 2023 at its headquarters in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye.

SESRIC’s team of experts and researchers are providing the training for the benefit of trainees from 7 OIC Member Countries, namely; Cameroon, Iran, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan and Türkiye.

The main objective of this training is to enhance the participants' professional capacities in the mandated areas of the Centre, namely statistics, socio-economic research, and training and technical cooperation. The training sessions are designed to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills that are directly applicable to their work in these areas.

The training will expose participants to the methodologies and best practices used in statistical data collection and processing, analytical research and report writing, and the execution of technical cooperation projects. It will provide insights into intra-OIC policy frameworks and action plans, and high-level policy forums on socio-economic development. The programme is also aimed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences among participants, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

• Introduction to Economic and Social Research and Analysis
• Advanced Topics in Data Collection, Processing and Visualization
• Introduction to Statistical Outreach Activities
• Introduction to Intra-OIC Policy Frameworks and Plans of Actions
• Introduction to Networking and Partnership Agreements
• Advanced Topics in Capacity Building Projects and Training Activities

The SET-CAB aims to provide motivated young individuals with an opportunity to delve into the economic and social issues that affect the Islamic World, while gaining practical experience in an international setting. Participants will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals from various fields and enhance their skills and knowledge in their areas of interest.
