SESRIC participated in the 6th Consultative Forum of Regional Cooperation Organizations (RCOs) in the OIC Region, convened by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) in Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco, on 5–6 October 2026. The Forum brought together more than 28 regional and international organizations to exchange perspectives and explore opportunities for strengthening regional cooperation and advancing a shared agenda for regional integration across the OIC region.

Within the framework of the Digital Transformation Capacity Building Programme (Digi-CaB) and Public Employment Services Capacity Building Programme (PES-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with DOST Digital Innovations Centre under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, organised a Webinar on “Digital Innovation in Social Protection & Employment” on 5 October 2026.

SESRIC organised a Training Course on “Building a Fundamental Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Database” on 5–6 October 2026 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, within the framework of the SESRIC Occupational Safety and Health Capacity Building (OSH-CaB) Programme and the ASEAN–OSHNET Work Plan 2026–2030.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Amb. Khalid bin Mohammed AL-SHAREEF, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK congratulated him on his appointment and conveyed her best wishes for success in the discharge of his new responsibilities.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Anas Radwan SALIM, Head of the Planning and Statistics Commission (PSC) of the Syrian Arab Republic, on 30 September 2026 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

SESRIC participated in the Palestine Day, held in Konya as part of the Konya OIC Youth Capital 2026 International Programme. The event was jointly organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye, Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) under the motto “Our Home is Your Home”. It aimed to draw attention to the injustices suffered by the Palestinian people and to strengthen solidarity with Palestinian youth.

SESRIC, in its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), and the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia co-organised a side event titled “Fostering Partnerships within Statistical Ecosystems” on 30 September 2026 in Jeddah in hybrid format on the margins of the 15^th Session of the OIC-StatCom.

On the margins of the 15^th Session of the Statistical Commission of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-StatCom), SESRIC and the National Agency for Statistics and Demography of Senegal (ANSD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further strengthen cooperation in the field of official statistics.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Fahad Al-Dossari, President of the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the margins of the 15^th Session of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

SESRIC participated in the “Towards COP31: Local Climate Action Policy Dialogue,” held under the theme “Local Leadership, Inclusive Urban Resilience and Sustainable Transition” on 29–30 September 2026 in Muğla, Türkiye, on the margins of the Mediterranean Climate Summit. The Dialogue was jointly organised by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, the United Nations in Türkiye, the Private Office of the COP31 High-Level Climate Champion, the World Academy for Local Governments and Democracy (WALD), and the United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section (UCLG-MEWA).

SESRIC, in its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), jointly convened the 15th Session of the OIC-StatCom with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group on 29-30 September 2026 in a hybrid format in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Session was hosted by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a meeting with H.E. Amb. Syed Mohammad FAWAD SHER, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Amb. Jabedul Haque JABED, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation between SESRIC and Bangladesh in areas of mutual interest.

SESRIC participated in the 44^th Meeting of the Permanent Technical Committee for Statistics of the League of Arab States (LAS), organised by the Department of Statistics and Databases of the LAS General Secretariat and hosted by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 28 September 2026.

SESRIC participated in the 51^st Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 27 September 2026 and hosted by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

SESRIC participated in the International Strategic Workshop “Palestinian Education: From Relief to Empowerment”, organised by the Isnad Foundation for Palestinian Student Support (IFPSS) in collaboration with TÜGVA and Alkhidmat Europe.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK attended a reception hosted by H.E. Fahad A. ABUALNASR, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Türkiye, in Ankara on 23 September 2026 to mark the Kingdom’s 96th National Day.

The project entitled “Enhancing Genome Editing and Crop Biotechnology Capacity for Climate-Resilient Agriculture in OIC Member Countries” (Project No. 2025-PAKAGRIC-408), submitted under the 13^th COMCEC Project Call, has been successfully approved for funding. The project is led by the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab, Pakistan, in cooperation with partner institutions from Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

A SESRIC delegation participated in the 27^th Meeting of the COMCEC Agriculture Working Group held on 21-22 September 2026 in Ankara, Türkiye, under the theme “Promoting a Resilient Agriculture Sector against Climate Change in OIC Member Countries.” The Meeting brought together representatives from the Ministries of Agriculture of OIC Member States, including Algeria, Benin, Gabon, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Niger, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, The Gambia, Tunisia, and Türkiye, as well as representatives of relevant OIC institutions.

SESRIC participated in the 26^th Meeting of the COMCEC Financial Cooperation Working Group, held on 21-22 September 2026 in Ankara. The “Potential of Crowdfunding for Economic Development in the OIC Member Countries” was the focus theme of the 26^th Meeting.
