Progress in eradicating poverty remains highly uneven across the OIC Member States. Incidence of poverty, both in monetary and multidimensional terms, remain very high especially in low and lower middle income OIC countries located in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia regions. Poverty eradication is a complex task because of the multifaceted nature of poverty. Like many of their developing counterparts, governments of the OIC Member States are facing a myriad of issues and challenges in their fight against poverty including access to basic services, availability of financial resources, institutional capacity and political will. This state of affairs necessitates strengthening and enhancing cooperation and collaboration in various poverty related issues at both regional and international levels.

Based on the strong support from the representatives of OIC Member States after the Workshop on Innovative Social Assistance Strategies in Poverty Alleviation, held in Ankara, Turkey on 12-14 December 2011, SESRIC launched the Poverty Alleviation Capacity Building Programme (PA-CaB) in 2011 to play more active role in the coordination and organisation of all possible capacity building activities towards poverty alleviation efforts in the OIC Member States.
Questionnaire and Terms of Reference (ToR) Files

SESRIC urges all relevant national institutions in the OIC Member States to participate in the Poverty Alleviation Capacity Building Programme (PA-CaB). The valuable participation of national institutions will help SESRIC to effectively plan and implement capacity building training activities which will play an important role in the improvement of human capital in the OIC Member States.
