Stock exchanges in the OIC Member States contribute not only to the development of the financial system, but also the economy by facilitating fund raising for member states and companies to grow and expand. It also serves as a tool for investors and traders to invest savings through its large number of instruments such as shares and bonds and other financial instruments. Among these instruments, Sukuk is widely utilized as the principal tool for fundraising and investment by Muslims and Islamic countries as considered sharia-compliant financial instruments. A well-functioning financial system can pave the way for rapid economic development through the efficient allocation of domestic savings into productive economic activities.

In view to effectively benefit from the possibilities offered by capital markets and enhance human capacities in the OIC Member States, SESRIC developed the Capacity Building Programme for Stock Exchanges (SE-CaB) in 2011. Within the framework of the Programme, the Centre organises short-term training courses, training workshops, and study visits on various technical and regulatory aspects related to the stock exchanges by matching the needs and capacities of the stock exchanges in the OIC Member States. The Centre analyses these needs and capacities through the responses of the related questionnaire and mobilizes stock exchanges experts across the OIC Member States to conduct the capacity building activities.

Questionnaire and Terms of Reference (ToR) Files

SESRIC urges all stock exchanges in the OIC Member States to participate in the Stock Exchanges Capacity Building Programme (SE-CaB). The valuable participation of the Stock Exchanges will help SESRIC to effectively plan and implement capacity building training activities, which will play an important role in the improvement of human capital in the OIC Member States.

The Stock Exchanges in the OIC Member States are highly welcomed to download the related questionnaire available, in the three official languages of the OIC, from the links below:
